It is a famous American sitcom about the life of four very rich housewives ( a housewife/ housewives = femmes à la maison): Susan, Lynette, Bree and Gabrielle . They all live in a suburbs. (the suburbs = la banlieue)

Susan:
- she has a daughter, Julie, and she is separated from her husband Karl .
- she is often mad but she is very funny. She always finds herself in embarrassing situations. (find oneself in an embarrassing situation = se retrouver dans une situation gênante)

Lynette:
- she has four children ( Porter Penny Preston Parker) and a husband (Tom).
- she is intolerant and she finds it difficult to bring up her child. (bring up = élever)

Bree:
- she has two children (Andrew and Danielle) and a husband (Rex)
- she is fussy and traditional.

Gabrielle:
-she has a husband (Carlos)
-she is proud and unfaithful.
