Barack Obama wins US elections ! (cbbc newsround)

Barack Obama has been elected the first black president of the United States of America.

Obama was named president as winner at around 4am UK time, and an hour after that spoke to hundreds of thousands of people at park in Chicago.

He said: "It's been a long time coming, but tonight... change has come to America."

Earlier in the night, when it was sure Obama was going to win his rival John McCain

Obama also said: "If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer."[...]
