My trip to Singapore by Arthur (5°2)

Singapore is an island town-state . There are 4 600 000 people living in Singapore. English is the official language but there are a lot of languages : Malay, Tamil, Chinese.

In Singapore there are a lot of shopping centers open 24 hours and all days, a lot of luxury hotels, magnific temples, verdents parks…

Singapore has got one of the biggest zoos of the world, a big aviary and a gigantic orchids garden.

My mother and I were going to Singapore with my father who was working during the flight.

So I stayed there for 5 days with the trip.
I slept in a hotel called « Le Meridien ». It is located in the center of Singapore on Orchard road, the shopping road.

I visited :

-Singapore zoo : I liked this zoo because there were a lot of animals I have never seen before : white tiger, differents kind of gazelles, elephants of Asia, pygmy hippo, tapir, artic animals, big snakes, giant tortoise, a tarentula, crocodiles, komodo dragon, white rhino, gnus,  black panther, orang utan, mandrill…
I walked in the zoo for four hours. In the zoo there is a tropical crops plantation, I saw a lot of flowers, exotic fruits, vegetables…

- Night safari : There is a little course by bus or by feet. It’s magnific because I saw animals in their natural habitat and they were very close to us.

- The river : I made a small trip on a tipical boat called bumboat on the river. There I saw the “Merlion.”

The « Merlion » is the emblem of Singapore.

- Areas : In Singapore I visited Little India and Chinatown and  I ate Chinese and Indian food. The speciality of Singapore is « Black Pepper Crab »or « Chili Crab »
