Proverbs and idioms

As I was browsing on the web I came across an interesting site page with a collection of idioms and proverbs.

"Idioms are phrases and sentences that do not mean exactly what they say. Even if you know the meaning of every word in the see or hear, you may not understand the idiom because you don't understand the culture behind it.
Proverbs are wise sayings that help teach lessons."

I'll try and publish one idiom or proverb a week just for pleasure, it's so funny !
