Well...May parents forgive me for sharing a funny moment I had in class today.
As usual in January, I was asking my students about their New Year's resolutions.
Most of them said : "I'm going to do well in school" or "I'm going to be nicer to my mother", "I'm going to stop fighting with my brother", I'm going to listen to my teachers", "I'm going to clean my room"...the usual resolutions...
Everything was going smoothly and I was about to say the familiar "ok, would you please open your copybooks..." when one of my pupil put up his hand and said aloud : "Non, j'en ai une autre pour l'école ! (nous avions classé les résolutions par thèmes)
- Je vais me retenir de péter en classe !" !!!!!
Wooau !!!!
Of course, everyone burst out laughing ! Children love such words as "farting", "burping"...and they love doing it too !
What an unexpected resolution !
Obviously, his classmates thought it was a brilliant promise... Yes ! Very good resolution ! Hold your farts in the future ! I understood they were smelly...

As I'm a teacher I explained to my student that such personal resolutions should be kept private ! Oh, my goooood !!!! Lol
Well, we had a good laugh though and I took this opportunity to tell them how to say "péter" in English...I'm sure they will remember it !
Dear parents, I'm sorry and I hope you'll forgive me for sharing a moment of my ordinary teacher's life but it's my job and I never know what to expect when I get into my classroom with...YOUR children ! Every day is different !
Teaching might be exasperating sometimes but it's never boring !
Let's be serious for a second. May I suggest a new school rule ?

You must refrain from farting in class ! It's gross !
